PROYECTO "NOCTURNO"

ArtCenter/South Florida is celebrating its 30th anniversary this year with a retrospective exhibition, Thirty Years on the Road. The exhibition is curated by Edouard Duval-Carrié, an artist and curator based in Miami who was at the ArtCenter in the early 1990s. It will encompass our two exhibition spaces, The Richard Shack Gallery and Project 924, as well as the 924 Vitrine, the Lincoln-Meridian windows and four Windows@Walgreens locations.

Eny Roland Hernandez' window is a partnership between ArtCenter/South Florida and Fundación Rozas-Botrán.

As part of an exchange project with the South Florida/Art Center, in January 2014 I came to Miami for the very first time. Amongst the many captivating aspects the city provides, I was particularly impressed by its night life as much as by its notorious and impressive diversity. Inspired by both, I decided to do portraits -close ups- of different boys found outside of the clubs and bars, using a direct flash and the city lights as a background. The idea was capturing the ample and varied range of characters that, in one same night, get together for the enjoyments of such life.
